RAMADHAN APPEAL: SAFE WATER FOR THE FASTING PEOPLE IN SIERA LEONE
DONATE FOR SAFE WATER
About Us

MAB Charitable Trust aims to educate and assist the Muslim community with its religious and spiritual needs; and to contribute positively to British Society. MAB CT is a focused and socially responsible charity, which endeavors to contribute through its humanitarian work to present the positive image of Muslims in the UK. We work on project to feed the homeless and provide poverty relief.

Why Focused?
Following an aspect of the teaching of our beloved Prophet (Peace be upon him), we have decided to support our fellow humans living in the UK. Did you know that:
• The UK has 14 million people living under the poverty line and 3.9 million people living in persistent poverty.
• More than 250,000 people are homeless in England.
We work on projects to feed the homeless and provide poverty relief.
MAB –CT is also focused on the need of the Muslim Community. We educate and assist our community with its religious and spiritual needs with a special focus on the youth and the newly reverts.

Why socially responsible?
At MAB-CT we believe that we must invest our time, efforts and money to improve some aspects of our Society. We promote good relations between persons of different faiths including persons of no faith by:
• Spreading knowledge about Islam
• Working on a mutual understanding of the different beliefs
• Increasing the respect of the beliefs when different from ours
The work we do also aims to show what Islam is about and the positive and needed contribution of Muslims for the British Society as well as the advancement of religious harmony for the benefit of the public.

All Party Parliamentary Group on British Muslims

Definition of Islamophobia
The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on British Muslims was established on 18 July
2017 to build on the work of the APPG on Islamophobia, but with a wider remit to examine abroad range of issues that British Muslims care about, and are affected by. APPGs are composed of Members of both the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
They are informal, cross-party groups that have no official status within Parliament, are not accorded any powers by Parliament or any of its Committees, and are independent of Government.
Following two years of consultation, on 27th November 2018, the APPG on British Muslims published a report titled
“Islamophobia Defined: the inquiry into a working definition of Islamophobia.”
This report contained the following definition:

“Islamophobia is rooted in racism and is a type of racism that
targets expressions of Muslimness or perceived Muslimness.”

Contemporary examples of Islamophobia in public life, the media, schools, the workplace, and in encounters between religions and non-religions in the public sphere could, taking into account the overall context, include, but are not limited to:
* Calling for, aiding, instigating or justifying the killing or harming of Muslims in the name of a racist/ fascist ideology, or an extremist view of religion.
* Making mendacious, dehumanizing, demonizing, or stereotypical allegations about Muslims as such, or of Muslims as a collective group, such as, especially but not exclusively, conspiracies about Muslim entryism in politics, government or other societal institutions; the myth of Muslim identity having a unique propensity for terrorism, and claims of a demographic ‘threat’ posed by Muslims or of a ‘Muslim
takeover’.
* Accusing Muslims as a group of being responsible for real or imagined wrongdoing committed by a single Muslim person or group of Muslim individuals, or even for acts committed by non-Muslims.
* Accusing Muslims as a group, or Muslim majority states, of inventing or exaggerating Islamophobia, ethnic cleansing or genocide perpetrated against Muslims.
* Accusing Muslim citizens of being more loyal to the ‘Ummah’ (transnational Muslim
community) or to their countries of origin, or to the alleged priorities of Muslims
worldwide, than to the interests of their own nations.
* Denying Muslim populations the right to self-determination e.g., by claiming that the
existence of an independent Palestine or Kashmir is a terrorist endeavour.
* Applying double standards by requiring of Muslims behaviours that are not expected
or demanded of any other groups in society, e.g. loyalty tests.
* Using the symbols and images associated with classic Islamophobia (e.g. Muhammed being a paedophile, claims of Muslims spreading Islam by the sword or subjugating
“Islamophobia is rooted in racism and is a type of racism that
targets expressions of Muslimness or perceived Muslimness.”
minority groups under their rule) to characterize Muslims as being ‘sex groomers’, inherently violent or incapable of living harmoniously in plural societies.
* Holding Muslims collectively responsible for the actions of any Muslim majority state, whether secular or constitutionally Islamic.

ABOUT ONE UMMAH

One Ummah Charity is an award-winning, humanitarian and disaster relief aid organisation based in the UK. We currently provide and facilitate aid across more than 15 calamity-stricken countries worldwide including Syria, Palestine, Yemen and Afghanistan.

We aim to alleviate suffering, and ultimately, save the lives of our brothers and sisters across the world. Not only do we aim to provide immediate relief to those in need; we also focus on empowerment projects that give beneficiaries the opportunity to transform theirs and their families lives for the better.

With our assistance, beneficiaries are given the skills and tools to craft a better life, away from the misery of poverty. After eight years of life-saving work, we have expanded greatly, with the recruitment of volunteers, employment of staff, and establishing offices across the UK and abroad.

Without the mercy of Allah first and foremost, and then the generosity of our amazing donors, we would not be in a position where we are able to benefit millions around the world every year.
